Introduction

We know more about space than we do our ocean, with around 80% of our waters never being explored. The reason for this? We have never had the technology to be able to do so. Underwater robotics have been used for decades in the form of ROVs. However, it is only recently that the market of new underwater technologies has taken off. More work is being conducted to explore and take advantage of conducting work, surveys and research in our waters. Companies, including NASA taking the next steps to explore the full potential of underwater technologies. 

This report will look at the challenges that the industry has faced in the past with the development of underwater robots and explore the companies currently working towards creating new innovative technologies to up the antics of the underwater robotic industry. With that, the current market sector of the industry and where it is expected to go by the year 2030.
