Thetius 150: the most innovative organisations in the maritime industry 2022

Welcome to the 2022 Thetius Maritime 150 list of the most innovative organisations in the industry. Our mission is to enable innovation in the maritime industry. As part of that, we have scoured the globe, looking for startups, small businesses, corporates, and not-for-profit bodies that are developing innovative technologies to drive change in the industry.  From over 2,700 organisations developing new technologies for the maritime industry, we have produced the definitive list of the 150 that are having the biggest impact.

The Thetius Maritime 150 is split into four sections:

  • The top 50 most innovative startups and scaleups
  • The top 50 most innovative small and medium sized businesses
  • The top 30 most innovative corporates
  • The top 20 most innovative government and not for profit bodies

The Thetius Intelligence Platform tracks thousands of organisations, product announcements, startup investments, partnerships, acquisitions, grant funding and contract awards. We call these market signals. Organisations have been selected based on a scoring system developed by the Thetius team that measures their contribution to the advancement of technology in the industry through these market signals (see the full methodology on page 100 for more information.  The top organisations in each category have been profiled and presented below in alphabetical order.

Our aim is to showcase the work of the organisations around the world that are pushing the industry forward, whether they are suppliers or customers, big or small, venture-funded or bootstrapped, commercial or not for profit. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we have enjoyed compiling it.
